Taking out the trash

Hi guys,

Just an update to tell you about two members who have now been removed from the guild due to their not being online for ten days; Annette and Harod.

Let this be a warning to all of you new members; no matter how much I want a higher member count, I’m not going to just let anyone stay in no matter how they behave. Imperium is and always will be a quality guild.

Remember that the Official Guild Guide can tell you about any issues which are important to the guild. I’ve linked to it at the top in the information section to make it easy to use as a reference. :)

Ok that’s all for now,

Lieutenant Tacitar

Hi guys,

I said in my last post that there would be some drinking in the Hinterlands to celebrate Tacitar being promoted, but as it happens the promotion took place late last night instead. :)

Unfortunately only three of us (me, Raedwulf and of course Tacitar) were in attendance, nonetheless the promotion was still carried out and now Tacitar is a Lieutenant. What this means for all non-officer ranks is that Tacitar can now be referred to in matters of recruitment (since he now posesses the ability to invite new members).

Raedwulf and I took some photos of the occasion:

The usual drunkeness ;) :

I think it would be best if we waited until we have a few more members for our next raid, although I could be persuaded into some PVP action I suppose ;) . However, I was thinking of going to Warsong and Arathi (probably mainly Arathi since its new and I didn’t really enjoy Warsong) and I hope those within my level bracket will join me if they’re online. :)

Thanks for visiting,

Connection troubles

Filed under: Guild Post, General Post

Hi there,

I’m back after a brief period of not being online.

My internet connection buggered up unfortunately (router broken) so I (mostly my brother but I was nearby giving support ;) ) spent the good part of two days trying to figure out what exactly was wrong.

Anyway, the situation right now is that I’m connected via a modem and the router is being replaced (in about a week’s time). What this means in terms of WoW is that I might not be around at certain hours at which I typically would have. This is because other people in the house might want to use the Internet and only one person can be connected at a time. :(

Bear with me on this and hopefully I should be properly back up and running in a while. I can still play though and so I’ll be endeavouring to be online as much as is possible given the circumstances.

I don’t know if any of you even read my last post but in it I said there would be a party-esque affair in The Hinterlands (Aerie Peak to be exact). I still intend for this to happen (Tacitar’s levelling needs to be celebrated) so it will likely be occurring in the near future; probably Friday since Tacitar can’t be online tomorrow.

I hope I’ll see you all in WoW soon,

Eldilor

Third guild-PVP

Hi all,

Well last night there was some fine PVP action (although at some points I’m sure it wasn’t enjoyable for some).

The night truly started in Booty Bay; Tacitar having just completed his last ‘pre-40′ quest. As with Raedwulf, I took a screenshot of Tacitar’s momentous ascent to level 40:

After helping out Raedwulf with some quests on the shoreline, Tacitar was eager to recieve his Felstead. We travelled to Stormwind with the help of Raedwulf’s portal:

Tacitar got his Felstead quest from the mage quarter in Stormwind and was told to travel to a chap in Ratchet. We arrived in Ratchet without incident and soon Tacitar had his hellish stead:

We took some time in the Barrens (soon to be our battleground) to take some screens of each other; the three amigos: :)

After about half an hour the whole team (Me, Raedwulf, Tacitar, Terilar, Dragnus and Khelden) had assembled at the fork in the road (near Splintertree and Silverwing). For a while we just chatted and did a bit of dueling:

After some healthy PVP practice, we made our way south into the Barrens. We made it all the way to Camp Tuarajo (hope I’ve spelt that right) without incident and assembled on the eastern edge of the camp walls. After a bit of useful scouting from Raedwulf (positioned on the western side of the camp) and Tacitar (with the help of his awesome Eye of Kilrogg) we attacked the Horde guards on the eastern side to great effect:

Soon we were confronted by some rather high-level Horde, specifically a level ?? Tauren Druid (and this was ?? to me), a level 52 Orc Hunter and a level ?? (to me) Undead Mage. Even with these potentially overwhelming odds, we weren’t attacked immediately. The Horde were generally playing with us, although the Druid did attack and was nearly killed but just managed to escape inside the walls of the camp. The Orc Hunter also attacked at one point and also would have been beaten if he’d stayed and fought us.

After a while though, the Horde seemed to get tired of the play and decided to sort us out. I was killed a reasonable distance away from the camp by the Undead mage (this was after I’d ordered a retreat to Ratchet):

Eventually we all managed to get back to Ratchet safe and sound (with a glorious kill of a 42 mage on the way there by Raedwulf, Dragnus and I). Once there we attempted to lure some Horde into attacking (as with the previous time in Ratchet) but to little avail.

A good half an hour passed without a great deal of Horde activity and it was decided that we would make our way to Splintertree Post in Ashenvale to see if there would be more action there. Dragnus, Terilar and Khelden stayed in Ratchet to see if they could get some more kills while Raedwulf, Tacitar and I went ahead on our mounts. :)

On the way we thought we’d piss off some Horde so we attacked Crossroads a bit (killing a few guards at the gate) and also dared to step inside the walls to take down a pesky Orc (Tacitar disobeying a direct order so that he could get the kill). Don’t worry Tacitar I won’t demote you just yet. ;)

We got taken down just as we were nearing the entrance to Ashenvale by a couple of ??’s, but this didn’t dampen our spirits. Raedwulf left us for the night as we arrived at Splintertree after helping us summon Dragnus and the others.

We did some serious damage to Splintertree (at one point we advanced all the way up the hill to where their mailbox was located! I got some dishonourable kills unfortunately (the rest of the group didn’t seem to get the DK’s but I was happy to take responsiblity…;)).

Our initial attack brought us well inside the walls of the outpost:

We survey the carnage:

Lack of Horde resistance led us to more dueling:

Our second attack was equally successful:

We were basically mocking the Horde at this point and eventually some high level blokes showed up. First we got taken down by a ?? Undead rogue, then a ?? Tauren Druid called ‘The Herminator’ and a ?? Orc rogue. Some lower levels were also there, attempting to get a lucky HK, but we rarely gave them the satisfaction.

The ??’s were the main challenge and we stood up to meet it with a tenacity to be expected from soldiers of the Imperium! :)

We took down the ?? Druid twice in spite of all his ‘run and heal’ antics. Here’s a picture of us about to smoke his ass:

After the second kill we rallied for a tactical withdrawal (at about 2:30):

Despite the fact that we only actually got about 10 kills all night, I personally thought it was great fun. There was definitely a sense of camaraderie in the group (especially in the later stages in Ashenvale) which made our victories all the more satisfying.

Anyway I hope you guys enjoyed it too. To celebrate both the night’s victories and Tacitar’s ascent to level 40 I’d like it if you’d all join Tacitar and I in the Hinterlands (there’s a fireplace there with six chairs and a fully-operated bar!) for a few drinks. We’ll probably be drinking most of the day so join us whenever’s convenient to you! :)

Great stuff guys! Good to play with you.

P.S. Sorry about the top of some of the picture being cut off guys; dumbass mistake on my part! :(

PVP Tonight

Hi guys,

Just a reminder that the PVP is planned for tonight. If you wanna join in we’re meeting in Ironforge in the evening. I can’t pin down an exact time right now since I need to wait until all those interested are on.

We might have some prospective members joining us on the raid; a group of friends who want to join a guild together. Hopefully we’ll have enough for two groups which will be much more fun.

Ok guys cya later on,

Eldilor

Drunken nonsense night

Hello there,

Last night was interesting. What started off as a simple quest trip in Stranglethorn quickly transformed into a booze-fest. :)

The night started (for me anyway) with a call to Stranglethorn to help out Tacitar with various quests. I had a quest to do there anyway so I got on the deeprun, hopped on the gryphon and arrived in Booty Bay. We quested, quested a bit more, gathered some pearls, then inevitably got bored.

Eventually we ended up on the Wild Coast (the shores to the east of Booty) with Tacitar eager to assault a camp of brigands. Raedwulf and I felt differently however; the prospect of grinding level 41 warlocks and rogues not holding great appeal. We mucked about a bit and ended up getting pissed on grog from the Booty Bay tavern.

Our visit to Jaguero Isle proved interesting:

And exhilirating:

We took some time to pose for the camera:

Tacitar thought it would be funny if he challenged me to a duel:

I actually dueled Raedwulf a couple of times, the end score being 1 win each. I should have one both really; kudos to Raedwulf I think. :)

Alchohol was consumed:

With the obvious expected results:

Funny how an evening can so easily degrade into mindless piffle! :)

See you tomorrow for some guild-PVP guys!

Khelden

Hello all,

Just an announcement now; our esteemed recruit, Khelden, has proved himself worthy and has been promoted to Sergeant rank. Khelden is now a fully-fledged member of Imperium! :)

Khelden’s promotion reminds me that I recently promoted Tacitar to the rank of Master Sergeant. In the upcoming guild raid which will be held soon, Tacitar will hopefully be given command of his own group. I want anyone under his command to follow his lead.

Ok that’s all for now,

More site changes and other stuff

Hi guys,

Just a few things I need to cover.

First, you may notice that I’ve changed the font size in the posts. This was because of a demand by a certain reader that it was too small. I hope that it doesn’t bother any of you.

Second, I’m about to add professions to the info section at the top of the site. I think it’s important that we all know what professions we’re doing so I’m gonna add each of our professions after our names and ranks. Hope this helps out. :)

Finally, I’d like for us to get together for another fun mini-raid soonish. If you weren’t present at the last two PVP occasions, please bear in mind that we’re not looking at a serious raid here. Its really just about a couple groups of us getting together and gaining some honour for each other. Ideally I’d like two groups of five to make a 10-man group, but realistically I think it’ll end up with just one group of five or (if we don’t quite get ten) two groups of say 3 men each or 4 each.

I’ll be asking you all about both your professions and whether you’re interested in some guild-PVP (as well as when is convenient for you) in-game this week.

Cheers,

Eldilor

Mountage!

I finally have my glorious mount! However, what with buying my lvl 40 skills and learning a few portal spells, I’m practically bankrupt with all but 8 gold to my name. Anyway, back to the main point…I HAVE A MOUNT! :)

It seemed like an age getting to level 40 but I finally managed it last night. Previous attempts at level grinding had been cruely thwarted by bastard horde ganking me in the Badlands! Yet with the aid of Eldilor, the Horde were beaten into submission and forced to flee.

I started off with a mere 6 1/2 blocks to go and could smell the musk of my Stallion’s mane in the air! After slaying a few pesky earth elementals and seeing off many wild beasts I was left with two tasks. The first; to retrieve a stout Dwarf’s equipment which had been looted by marauding Ogres or to collect the winged remains of giant buzzards.

I recklessly charged at every buzzard with the misfortune to cross my path, making my way steadily toward the Ogre camp. My ferocity must have been too great for there were no remains either winged or not to be retrieved from the vermin. So it was left upon me to tackle the camp of Ogres, which put up a most insignificant resistance and were quickly slain for their impudence.

With my task complete I made my way victoriously back toward my Dwarven ally, the moment of truth coming closer with every step I took. The moment came and was captured forever by my fellow companion Eldilor.

With the journey completed and the wonderous heights of level 40 now at my disposal we made haste for a swift arrival in Ironforge. :)

I increased my skills in the way of magic by the tutelage of a fellow mage and as fast as was magically possible I left for Stormwind. There I learned horse mastery from a trainer in Elwynn Forest. The moment was upon me.

I hearthstoned to Menethil to purchase my mount; a glorious Black Stallion with the swiftness to carry me to battle horde wherever they might be.

Thirteen

Filed under: Guild Post, General Post

Sorry for the lateness of this post,

Three new members have joined Imperium over the last few days; Azoen, Aethon and Nadria. This now makes 13 members. Currently Privates Goring, Harod, Imana, Khelden, Azoen, Aethon and Nadria are all on trials.

On a lighter note, last night a group of five of us (Raedwulf, Tacitar, Dragnus and Terilar and I) gathered in Arathi to do battle with Fozruk (since Raedwulf and I had the quest to kill him). At first the plan was to take down one kobold, then retreat, gradually killing off the entire lot of them. When we first attacked though it turned out they weren’t as tough as we originally thought; certainly not tough enough to stand up against the five of us (Dragnus’ healing playing a key role).

I managed to take two screens of the battle below:

Fozruk dying:

On a completely unrelated note, I’m feeling extremely bitter at the moment. I just got a new hard drive last night (yay!) but at a certain point I thought I needed a new IDE cable, so I ordered one in advance. Then I found out I didn’t need a new cable and managed to install my new hard drive fine. However, I forgot to cancel my order and now I’m unable to do so. As a result I have slammed the desk many times, cursed to the Gods, and I’m now listening to the soundtrack to Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith (mainly the evil parts) to fuel my current state of mind.

All Hail Darth Revan! (KOTOR reference) :)
